a courthouse wedding doesn't mean...
You're cheap.
You're broke.
You won't enjoy it as much as a larger, more traditional wedding.
As we see more of Gen Z shaking up the previous wedding trends and traditions, we are happy to say that courthouse weddings are SO in. Contrary to popular belief, you can still feel extremely special on your wedding day even at the courthouse. Here are some tips to add some sparkle to your day.
Real Florals
Whether you arrange your own bouquet or have someone special make it for you, having real florals really adds an elegance that you didn't even know you could add. Customize it with special ribbons and charms for that added touch.
mildly splurge on your attire
You don't have to get that designer dress or suit, but this is an event where you can get that $200 satin dress you've been eyeing at Nordstrom or that Banana Republic button up that you know you can find at Ross for cheaper.
Taking extra care of your appearance and attire is something a lot of us can overlook, but my question to you is-why not?
Have at least one of these services professionally done.
- Nails
- Hair/Haircut
- Makeup
Make reservations at the restaurant you've been dying to go to.
You know you probably wouldn't go there on a random Friday night date. Your wedding is all about cultivating memories through your senses and your taste buds are no different! Let that one amazing restaurant become the experience of a lifetime that you now share with your new spouse!
Hire a photographer
We might be a little biased by putting this on the list but honestly, how can you have a wedding without a photographer? A professional photographer will give you reassurance of the quality that you deserve for your wedding. Also, wedding day go by faster than you think, especially courthouse weddings. Most ceremonies are done within 15 minutes. A photographer will freeze those special moments in time so you can remember this era forever.
Bonus- hiring a videographer
Again, we're definitely biased with this tip. If you want that extra oomph, and added material especially for those loved ones that are not able to see you get married in person, video is an amazing option. A professional videographer will capture your day beautifully, focus on those fleeting details and help you and your loved ones remember your love being made official.
